How to avoid short cycling from a small radiant zone

If you are adding a small radiant zone to your home, it may cause the boiler to short-cycle. Here is a way to avoid the short cycling of a buffer tank. Why not use your indirect water heater as a buffer tank? The use of a high mass indirect water tank works best for this idea.
The use of a thermal mixing valve will allow you to reduce the temperature of the water to the radiant floor zone as needed. In-slab radiant heating with good insulation under the floor typically operates at temperatures below 110°F on the coldest days of the year.
