What is A Condensate Pump
The operation of a condensate pump is like a sump pump. It works off a float mechanism. When the condensate tanks contain enough water to lift the float, the switch activates. This turns the pump on and pumps water back into the boiler. The problem is that the boiler may not require water at that time, leading to overfilling. This will create wet steam. Wet steam moves more slowly and turns back into condensate much sooner than it should, releasing its latent heat, losing its heating ability, and requiring the boiler to run to make more steam.
